25th Annual Scottish Festival
and Highland Games
Enjoy a day of Scottish heritage with traditional and contemporary Scottish and Celtic music, food, pipers, drums, dancers, vendors, clans and more, including Highland Games throughout the day.
A highlight of the event is always the Scottish and Celtic music. Five bagpipe bands will play continuously throughout the day. Celtic trios and harpists will play in several venues around the Museum Grounds. A program of contemporary Scottish music will be performed in the entertainment area. Sons of the Gaels will perform in Williamsville School and Carol Farrar, Hobson’s choice and Step In Time will perform traditional music in the Shaw Exhibit Building. Visitors can enjoy a variety of Scottish food, shop with Scottish vendors, see sheep herding demonstrations, trace their Scottish roots with various clans and watch Highland Athletics.
The competition in Heavy Athletics includes amateurs and professionals who will compete in caber toss, sheaf throws, and other events exclusive to Highland Games.
The Scottish Festival is an event for the entire family. Even the smallest children will enjoy the athletes, animals and music. There is something for everyone.
Admission includes all current Museum exhibits, grounds and historic buildings and Scottish Festival events.
